LAWRENCE, KS – eXplore Lawrence, the official Destination Marketing Organization for Lawrence, Kansas, has launched explorelawrence.com. The mobile-first site engages and inspires visitors with relevant content. Research and user data drove the layout and design of the site to ensure a friendly user experience while reflecting the unmistakable personality of Lawrence.

eXplore Lawrence worked with the tourism industry’s leading web design provider, Simpleview Inc., on the strategy and design for the new site.

Visitors to explorelawrence.com will find a one-stop-shop for planning a good time in Lawrence, plus up-to-date information on current local COVID-19 figures, safety measures, and travel status. New blogs, photography, and itinerary ideas create an interactive experience that inspires visits to Lawrence. Listings for things to do, events, places to stay and eat, and special offers give visitors and locals easy ways to plan their time in Lawrence. Event planners will find resources for planning sports and business events, reunions, group travel, and weddings in Lawrence.

“The new website comes at just the right time,” said eXplore Lawrence Executive Director Kim Anspach. “The recovery of the travel industry is integral to the health of the Lawrence economy. The new website packages all of the amazing assets Lawrence has to offer visitors in meaningful ways, and it will help our local travel and hospitality industry bounce back.”

The new website was funded in part by a Tourism Marketing Grant from the Kansas Tourism Division.

New vibe videos for Lawrence accompany the website. Lawrence people, food, outdoor recreation, universities, arts, culture, and history are highlighted in the videos. The videos are being used on the new website, on social media channels, in digital marketing campaigns, and in presentations to attract new visitors and events to Lawrence.

eXplore Lawrence worked with the Mammoth Creative Co. film team to produce the videos.

“The vibe videos capture the essence of what makes Lawrence unmistakable,” said Andrea Johnson, eXplore Lawrence Director of Marketing and Communications. “These videos show, better than we could ever tell, why to put Lawrence on your must-visit list.”
